Valentine’s day celebrations...

Topic: "Valentine’s day celebrations is more of a marketing contrivance than about genuine feelings"

Valentine day is the celebration of love and affection between companions. On this day lovers express their love to their loved ones by presenting flowers, offering sweets, candy and sending greeting cards. Modern Valentine's day is widely celebrated in all new fashion, the list of items with which one can express their love is opulent. Modern Valentine's day symbols includes the heart shaped objects, doves and the art of winged cupid. Till yesterday people used to express their love via greetings and letters, today the growth in technology has made one shall love from one corner of the world to another corner of the world through the medium internet.

People celebrate the V-day in a most adorning and ebullient manner. This kind of celebrations has attracted the firms to invest on developing more attractive gift products. They embellished their product and heeded people to buy their products to gift their loved ones during this occasion. Men always try to impress his gal with the best gift in the world. So, they tend to buy those products . Let us see whether “Valentine’s day celebrations is more of a marketing contrivance than about genuine feelings"

Yes, it is more of marketing contrivance:

As mentioned earlier in the second Para, firms try to conquer people's attention to buying their products. Morozoff Ltd. in Japan promoted Valentine’s day by giving heart-shaped chocolates. Later, Japanese chocolate companies make half their annual sales during this time of the year. In 1958 the Isetan department store ran a "Valentine sale". In USA, according to the Greeting Card Association, an estimate of over one billion valentine cards are being sold each year.  The marketing group’s motto is always to compete with opponent firms to attract people vastly and increase their revenue and popularity. Some firms/ companies organize party and celebrate this day. These shows and events conducted is full of alacrity and grandiloquent in style, Does not help to express the genuine feeling of any true souls. So, I feel like the companies use the Valentine’s day celebration as the tool to attract customers. The companies are the only beneficent from these celebrations.

No, it is not more of marketing contrivance:

If we say that valentine’s day celebration is more of marketing contrivance then there are ‘n’ number of events and occasions celebrated in the world which needs to be charted. I would like to ask a question here, Do a person need to gift their loved ones to show your affection/ genuine feeling?  I’ll answer “no” to this question coz “Loved one’s do not expect gifts to strengthen one's affection, Love expects care and affection” Buying an item for your beloved one’s tighten the relationship. Even a rose is an invaluable gift to his partner because it reminds one’s existence wherever a rose is spotted. Its not the gifts and cards, that is required to celebrate “Valentine’s day”, but an heart to feel and to use the day as an opportunity to show the love we have towards the most important person in our life.

So, when we talk about genuine feelings, its about each individuals moral in Love. Though there is an influence of some firms in the celebration of Valentine’s day, it does not impact the genuine feelings between any companions. The celebration of this day is to show the existence of Love in this world.
